Fariborz Ghadar, known as FG, is the William A. Schreyer Professor of Global Management Policies at the Smeal College and founding Director of The Center for Global Business Studies. FG is a leading authority on future business trends, global economic assessment, global corporate strategy and implementation, leadership development, e-business, and international finance and banking. He holds a PhD in business administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He also holds two master’s degrees, an M.B.A. from Harvard and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and two B.S. degrees from MIT, one in biomedical engineering and one in chemical engineering. Prior to his position at Pennsylvania State University, FG was the chairman of the International Business Department at George Washington University Graduate School of Business and Public Management. FG held a vice-ministerial post in Iran during the Shah’s regime, has served as an investment banker at the International Finance Corporation at the World Bank group, and was the research coordinator of the Harvard Multinational Enterprise Project. Business Week magazine named him one of the top 10 “Stars of Finance,” and he was selected as one of the top 10 Thought Leaders and Practitioners of Strategy Coaching in “Profiles in Coaching: The 2004 Handbook of Best Practice in Leadership Coaching.”
FG released his latest book,
Becoming American: Why Immigration Is Good for Our Nation's Future, in March of 2014.
